Ban Nong Heang Power Point

COMPASS went on a project at Ban Nong Heang, a government school in Thailand where resources are often limited. Noticing an opportunity to contribute positively to the local community, COMPASS initiated a hands-on workshop, dedicated to educating children, aged 10 to 12, on how to create dynamic PowerPoint presentations.

The project began with the generous donation of computer screens and other necessary equipment, enabling the students to actively participate in the learning process. We made sure that all students had access to these resources, ensuring an equal learning environment.

The workshop was designed to be comprehensive yet engaging, introducing the children to the basic functionality of PowerPoint, such as slide creation, adding text, inserting images, and manipulating designs for aesthetics. The purpose was to foster the children's creative thinking, enhance their computer literacy, and equip them with a useful tool for their academic and future career growth.

As part of our goal to create a more enriching experience, we incorporated recreational activities into the program. The day was punctuated with breaks for play and snack times, where cookies were served, giving the children a chance to relax and interact more informally with the team. This project was an endeavor to level the playing field for underprivileged children, providing them with the digital tools and skills needed to thrive in the 21st-century educational landscape. The workshop not only enriched their present learning experience but also aimed to open doors for them in their future educational and career prospects.
